Black Lunch Table
Black Lunch Table is an ongoing collaboration between artists Jina Valentine and Heather Hart which intends to fill holes in the documentation of contemporary art history. Bringing creative practitioners of color to the table, participants engage in conversations on critical issues in their communities. Wikipedia edit-a-thons and archival projects gather information and documentation in order to increase visibility of people of color in historically biased cultural and scholarly institutions. Black Lunch Table has been invited to host conversations and events at Market Photo Workshop (Johannesburg), The High Line (New York), Eastern Illinois University, Vanderbilt University (Nashville), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, among others.
